There was a ton of confusion around it, and to be honest, there still is. But there shouldn’t be. I remember asking @corygfitness about it in 2013, and his tweet back helped me convince my parents to let me try it. Once I started taking creatine consistently and training hard, I saw the results for myself. Not overnight. Not magic. But a steady, noticeable boost in strength, recovery, and performance. Since then, it’s been a non-negotiable part of my routine. Here’s the truth about creatine: It’s not a steroid. It’s not a “get big quick” hack. Creatine helps your muscles produce more energy by pulling water directly into your muscle cells. So when you’re lifting, sprinting, or grinding through tough workouts, you have a little more gas in the tank. It’s naturally found in red meat, but you’d need pounds of it to hit optimal levels — that’s where supplementation comes in. And no, it doesn’t make you bloated or hold extremely massive amounts of water like people say. That myth comes from people slamming 20g/day in a loading phase while eating garbage and wondering why they feel puffy and look like the Michelin-Man. Just take 5g daily and keep it moving.
